This Week's Sermon
Sunday December 15, 2019 – This was the Third Sunday in Advent and we lit the Candle of Joy and re-lit the Candle of Hope from Advent Week 1 and the Candle of Peace from Advent week 2. The Christmas excitement continues to build. We were joined my Bother in Christ, Good Friend and Mentor Rev .Bob Lowenthal. Pastor Bob assisted us with the Worship and helped with a quick Church Conference follow-up matter of business. Our Scripture and Gospel readings reminded us the importance of all Christians to be ready for our Lord’s return which can happen at any time. We heard how Jesus praised his cousin John the Baptists and reaffirmed John’s importance and his place in eternity with the Saints. This Sunday we went Caroling to Assisted Living and Nursing Home residents. They greatly enjoyed the many Christmas Carols we sang while accompanied by keyboard and guitar. We always love to see the looks on the Residents’ faces as they recognize and join in singing the Christmas music that has been a very important part of their long Christian lives. Of course the staff working with them also have fun and usually sing along with us. Just being able to see our Church Family Children singing with us is a huge blessing for so many of those who greatly miss their own families at this time. After our Caroling we had a wonderful time together at our Pizza Party. I love to relax with our Church Family and the occasional visitors who join in with us. We were all greatly blessed by the Residents and staff of the facilities we sang at.
May God Richly Bless Us All – Pastor Eric
